Tsar Samuel (partial reconstruction)
Costumes for Tsar Samuel and several Bulgarians and Byzantines from his time were developed at the initiative of Saint Kliment of Ohrid Secondary School – Kostenets and under the guidance of Avitohol ARPBT – Varna. It was an honour and a pleasure to design the most important clothes.
The assignment comprised a tsar’s partial regalia, therefore here are presented some of the mandatory elements of imperial clothing – red boots with pearls, red belt but not the crown or other insignia. All in all, the costume is simple but we took into consideration the fact that Samuel’s life was more battle than ceremony.
